      Not sure how good of an idea that is actually. As things get how air expands and goes out the filter...but then when it cools down air condenses then goes back in through the filter. I like letting it breathe. The whole point of this video is adding a filter to help protect. I think it'll be just fine

    Dude this point in our vehicles ag3 i promise you better get used to reman. Now i grew up with a family member owning a alternator reman shop and ill say if its done by a good shop, a reman alternator is literally zero difference between a new alternator. You can buy the kits to reman them yourself. Once you learn how to do it you can do it pretty much quickly.

    I’m about to have work done to my pil pump on my 54 year-old human body. Right now that vessel does not get around very well. I know, TMI. You have the longest video so I watched last. I’m sorry for that. Because out of the other four videos I seen they did not say that the pill plug was a 17 inch. I knew it would’ve been a 15 or 17. But my tools are scattered and like I said, tickers not working right. Less walking is better. I bet you thought I was going to be one of those crackpots :-) I want to thank you. for giving all the information a person would need to change their fluid. I have watched a bunch of different videos for different things. The most I’ve ever had to watch is two for the same project. Pretty much everybody gives the tools that they will need. That’s not the case today. I think this is my third and last time I’m going to say thank you. So thank you. Oh, sorry that makes for :-) have a good day.

    I am getting ready to do the same thing, same parts but for a 7.3. Don’t ever look to see where the compressor is located on a 7.3. It is a much easier job. I think you were supposed to take the rubber off the other evaporator, but I doubt it matters. Because the compressor is so easy with a 7.3, I have never removed the inner fender, so the evaporator is the hardest step by far. It is really hard to access those back bolts with the inner fender not taken out. I cut the top of box where the evaporator goes so I do not have to remove the back bolts to get it out. I found that I was able to seal the box back better doing them this way when not removing the inner fender. One piece of Mylar tape. Another thing you might consider is during the summer, I disconnect the heater core and connect the water pump with a straight piece of hose, by passing the heater core. Plug the two open ends together and leave some antifreeze in it. You might also want to replace the blender door actuator. Super easy. All you need is a flat screw driver, but make sure the replacement is turned the same as the current one. What happened to mine was the blender door stopped closing completely and the compressor started melting the Teflon in it. When I pulled the orifice, it was completely clogged with black. The only way to fix it is a complete replacement. I tried cleaning out the evaporator, but melted Teflon is stubborn. I will pull the inner fender this time and make sure the air box is sealed.

    Loved the video, it will really help me with my A/C replacement. About to replace the whole A/C system in my 2001 Ford F150, 5.4 L. At what point do you flush the system and what flush do you recommend? When adding oil do you add all the oil needed for the system to the compressor or do you need to add the oil to the dryer and condenser as well?

    • @AGuyandHisProjects
      @AGuyandHisProjects 7 днів тому

      I really rarely flush a/c systems...but I'm also not a mechanic. I like to use air and if it blows freely I hook it all up and call it a day. Oil they usually say to add it all to the compressor. Half the time you won't be able to get it all in there though so I'll put some in every component I'm able to access

    Dude, that IS a valve. Not a plug. There is a drain nipple just below it. You just unscrew it until the coolant starts coming out of the drain nipple. You don't unscrew it all the way. That's how you lose the rubber o-ring.
